Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlotte Southwest by IHG

Just won’t be staying at hotels anymore. Booked this for valentines night as my fiance and I wind down our road trip, and thought it’d be great tucked away and right next to top golf, so I booked. Not thinking about how EVERYONE goes to a hotel on valentine’s weekend to do YOU KNOW WHAT……well they were in the room next to us…. So we went to turn on the TV….NO REMOTE!! Like uh! So then we waited for one to be found, the neighbors continued to be louder than the TV, and I’m not trying to bash anyone for wanting a good time but really? That loud to be over the TV too?? This is supposed to be a family-friendly environment. To top it all off, we found blood or a mystery stain in our SHEETS (pictured). This is a wonderful location to stay before and after flights at CLT. There is extremely easy access from 485 and the airport is about 15 to 20 minutes away. There is also a very nice retail center less than 5 minutes away with numerous restaurants including Mexican and Asian cuisine and Panera among others. If you need a last-minute purchase Walmart and Lowe’s are located in the same shopping area. Our room was quiet, very clean and the mattress was comfortable. The heat worked well and we had a very pleasant view of a small lake. Our check-in was efficient and the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. They do not provide complimentary water but there is a very small onsite store where drinks and snacks can be purchased. We felt extremely safe here, and did not see anyone loitering or acti

I don't usually do reviews about chain hotels where I regularly stay. But I just had to say that this particular Holiday inn Express had the most delightful welcoming people. They really seem to care and want you to have a good stay. The even upgraded me to a room with a preview of a lake. But the clincher for me is that I now have electric vehicle and I knew I needed to charge this morning before heading back to Michigan. I was thinking I would have to go somewhere else to get breakfast while car charged. But this Holiday inn Express actually encourages you to feel free to grab your breakfast and take it with you. So I grabbed all my favorites, put them in a bag and ate my Holiday inn Express breakfast while charging my car not too far away. Love it!

Positive: Good location, the building itself is good. Negative: No crib for the baby, the front desk said you can have your 1-year-old sleep on the couch! Our room wasn't cleaned on day 2, not even the garbage. We were told breakfast is until 10, but apparently it's only until 9:30, so we came to the closed area.
