From the time we arrived, it was an uncomfortable stay. I was on a trip to Austin with my friend and we were looking for an affordable hotel stay in the downtown area. The location is okay, and close to a lot of bars, but the homeless in the area is highly noticeable. We didn’t have any issues with them, but there were certain situations where we felt it’s not as walkable around the hotel, especially with younger children. When we arrived to the hotel, the lobby was empty with lots of signage asking us to walk to the other side of the building to check in. We realized once we followed the signs that the hotel we booked must have been purchased by another hotel and that other hotel, Hotel Indigo, is now managing both hotels. The check-in process went fine. That night, one of us had clogged
Stayed here for the UIL State swim meet 2/19 -2/21. Parking was not free for hotel guests. 1 day parking fee was 50.00. Ice machines on the 1st and 5th floor were not working. The AC in the breakfast area was not working and felt as though the heat was on. Vagrants broke into the hotel and slept in the breakfast room. Beer cans strewn about on the 5th floor. Toilet would not flush (had to flush twice). Above all the bar across the street would play music until the wee hours of the morning...but hey the hotel did supply ear plugs! I do not recommend staying at this hotel.
Good value if you can get a room on sale. HVAC worked well. Reasonably quiet upper floor. They must’ve had some issues on the lobby floor with the AC because there were big fans in the breakfast buffet room and the gym. Bed and pillow were ok. Had a problem with the shower on our third night, but it was quickly resolved by the next day. Staff were all pleasant. Breakfast buffet was typical of mid-tier hotels - not find dining, but eatable. Access to Hotel Indigo lounge / bar was a nice bonus. !! Be aware that parking is $45 per day!!
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Good location to 6th St, although one needs to travel to 6th Street East which is a bit of a walk.Hotel is quiet at night. One note about the AC condensation pumps - they go off with a good deal of frequency. They will provide earplugs and a white noise machine. Just an observation for those ahead of time. The hotel was quick to make sure the pump was clean.
The last time I was here in November this hotel was very nice and the breakfast was very good. Unfortunately I cannot say the same this time. The pancakes were good but the eggs and turkey sausage just tasted funny. The room was very nice but there was some mold in the shower. Outside of this I do like this location. They have moved the check in to the lower level.at the front of the hotel.
