Holiday Inn Express Fredericksburg Southpoint by IHG

My wife and I reserved a room with a king size bed about 20 minutes before we arrived. When we arrived, there were no rooms with a king size or queen size bed. We got a room with two doubles. There was no offer of or reimbursement given for the mistake. When we got to the room, it looked as if someone had broken the door with a crowbar. Instead the slide lock had been used to keep the door open. It was damaged, and the door was never repaired. The room had an additional door for an adjoining room, and it had been left unlocked. The tub spout leaked copiously when turned on for a shower. The only good thing was the breakfast. I wouldn't stay here again.

It was simple to make the reservation. It was located within an easy driving distance from where we wanted to spend the next day. Very convenient to 95 North/South. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable - great water pressure for a hot shower. Great place to stay for a night or longer.

It was ok. The bathroom was a nice size. Mattress was uncomfortable and the bed squeaked. Lamp in the room (205) seemed to have a short. There have been updates, but they are half done. There was no toilet paper holder in our room. Toilet had no lid.

Great hotel. I stayed on 5th floor which has been renovated. The coffee machine was on the top shelf and the microwave was on the bottom shelf. Was too hard to pour water into it with it being that high up, so I switched them. I rely on dumbbells for my strength training. The 10 lb and 15 lb dumbbells are missing. The previous time I was there they were renovating the exercise room and using a dumbbell to prop the door open.

The first room we booked had a toilet that wasn't flushing properly, a sink that wouldn't drain and a noisy refrigerator. The second room had sticky floors in the entry and bathroom. The bathroom was dirty and the bathtub drain was broken. The hotel is very noisy. You can hear everything in the hallways and upper floors. The staff was absolutely wonderful! They are very friendly.
