Customer Reviews
We were attending a nearby event and even though we live locally chose to stay at the Iris so as not to drive home late and in the inclement weather. It was between this hotel and another equally close by. Smart choice on our part. The lobby was very inviting with fresh lemon water greeting us by the reception desk. The attendant was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable and included a microwave and refrigerator which we did not expect. There was also a Keurig, two bottles of water and locally brewed kcups. The complimentary breakfast was a bonus. As someone who lives locally, we knew the many choices available to us. We are so glad we chose Iris. Of note, its location to downtown Falmouth as well as Falmouth Hospital is ideal.
Positive: Location. The fact that the remodeling work was kept separate from the guests. Negative: Navigating inside the hotel was difficult. It?s like a maze and not well marked by signs. If you?re going to remodel the rooms, do the bathroom as well. Heating system was VERY noisy and made it hard to sleep.
I stayed at the Iris during the snow storm Sunday night and Monday night. Front desk gentleman was very friendly and polite. When I arrived there was an extremely angry lady there yelling at him. He kept his composure and calmed the lady down. I wish I could remember his name. As far as plowing and shoveling, it was horrible! It took me at least 5 attempts to get up the small hill. I had to climb over snow banks to get to the door both days. That is my only complaint, the snow plowing and shoveling. Great water pressure and hot water. Great breakfast! Bacon was the best I ever had.
Great experience at the Iris! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, from the front desk where we checked in early, though we weren’t expecting that. The cleaning staff was thorough and responsive and came every day. The breakfast was a nice continental spread the location was perfect, close to everything but secluded enough for peace and privacy. A great value for the amenities.
I stayed four nights. It is a quite place to be, 20min walking to Main Street and bus depot. 15min from the supermarket. It has a pool and scarce fitness room. The staff was overally polite and supportive. The hotel itself is aging, and there were some cons: Half of the towels with yellow/brownish stains. Bed cover with stains. Room service just "made" bed and emptied trash - dirty towels placed on the floor were folded and put back in the bathroom (unacceptable). No hand soap. Breakfast could have a bit more diversity.
