Hilton Garden Inn South Padre Island Beachfront

It was a wonderful stay there. We visited last year during thanksgiving. Very friendly front desk associate. Rooms were clean, need to work on bathrooms. Our room was on back side so there was not ocean view. Swimming pool was clean and huge one. They had hot jacuzzi as well. Kitchen staff was very friendly, they made our 17 omelette in clean pan, they washed it before use on our request. Location was awesome and it was on beach front. Breakfast was very delightful and they cleaned tables right away. We had 17 people and used tables outside cafe. I will recommend this hotel.

I wasn’t impressed really. I expected more from a Hilton Gardens. Someone said that’s the best place to stay in padre. That’s sad. I’ll stay in a condo next time. I kinda think because I used a third party that my service wasn’t as good.

This property is not your typical Hilton, they don’t let Hilton Silver or above upgrade. And they seem to have a scam like thing for upgrading. We checked in and are staying for a solid week and they gave us a room by the elevator. We asked to move and it was 40 per night upgrade. We happen to talk to another couple and they indicated a similar experience. It was new years week they had a lot folks the just stayed the night. Other issues, the free breakfast buffet ends at 10AM. No other options and 9-10 food runs out and they have a hard time keeping up. You can order an omelette or breakfast taco made to order but it is competitive. There might be 20 people waiting for an omelette. We only had it the first day. We paid extra for an “ocean balcony view” at the Hilton Garden Inn in South Padre, and this is the view we were given. Instead of the ocean, our balcony looks directly out over a flat maintenance rooftop, equipment, and a tall fence blocking the horizon. The ocean is completely hidden unless you lean out and try to look around the building. Charging guests more for an “ocean view” and placing them in a room that faces a maintenance roof feels incredibly misleading. The whole reason we paid for a balcony was to sit outside and actually enjoy the ocean view, not stare at HVAC units and fencing. This honestly feels like a bait-and-switch. If you’re booking here expecting the ocean from your balcony, be careful — apparently an “ocean balcony” at this Hilton Garden Inn can mean a rooftop and

Will not ever stay here again! We booked last minute as we wanted to getaway for a few days and relax. When we booked we called and were told the room we reserved would be overlooking the parking lot we were fine with that. We got to our room opened the patio door and our view was straight out to the air conditioning units, no parking lot, just air conditioning units. They were very loud and too noisy to sit outside on patio to relax. I went down to the front desk to see if we could be moved either to a higher floor or to a room where we at least had a view of parking lot and could sit on the patio and enjoy the breeze and silence as the parking lot was empty and very few people there.
