Hilton Garden Inn Gainesville

I stayed at this Hilton location while passing through town. I typically stay at Holiday Inn but decided to give Hilton a try for a change. I will say the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself was very disappointing. When we first walked in, the temperature was noticeably warm and uncomfortable. The bedding was poorly fitted — the sheets did not properly fit the mattress and continuously slipped off throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep. The mattress itself was extremely stiff and overly springy, feeling outdated and worn. Cleanliness was also a concern. I don’t know how to even start by making this review as I’m already emotional. My daughter gave birth to her baby girl at Shands Hospital, we didn’t expect to have an emergency. My precious granddaughter ended up in the Nicu. Since we do not live local, after my daughter’s discharge we started hotel hopping in order to be close to her. The Hilton Garden Inn in Gainesville was our third hotel we stayed at and by far the best in town. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the most amazing check in. Please know that James was God sent. He embodies the Hilton standards with passion and pride. His gentle tone and concern for my granddaughter was daily. Positive: It was close to everything. Negative: Upon check in we found a dirty rag in our shower. We told the staff at the front desk but no one ever came to get it, we had to remove it from the room ourselves. The pool was closed for cleaning Saturday afternoon/ evening.

Excellent stay! Rooms are clean and comfy. Alex and Daniella both provided lovely service with a smile. Checked in late and was greeted warmly by Alex. Learned some things to do in town and great tips on local spots. Thanks, Alex. Daniella helped us in the morning when our key wouldn’t work. Such great customer service. You rock, Daniella! The awesome maintenance man (sorry I didn’t get his name) worked in lightning speed to fix the lock- top notch service. Will return!

James is amazing! I travel a lot for work, I hav never met a front desk person go as above and beyond as he did. First of all, his customer service is top notch from when I checked in. Visiting some of the fast food places around here, I was expecting the same experience but I didn’t have that, they were terrible. But maybe I was comparing them to James! The keypad batteries on my room went out ant 10pm and James made every attempt to replace the batteries and get me back in my room. He was very apologetic and tried his best to replace the batteries. People like him is what the customer experience is all about! We need more James in this world
