Hilton Garden Inn Alexandria Old Town National Harbor

We had a great experience at this Hilton Garden Inn when traveling to Alexandria for my girlfriend’s birthday. We would stay again! Here were some highlights: 1. The front desk staff were excellent, and able to accommodate an early check-in for us, which we really appreciated. We were warmly greeted during every entry and exit. For me, this makes a huge impact and difference, and showcases that the staff take their role in the hospitality industry seriously. 2. We got a “city view room,” and it didn’t disappoint. The room was one of the most unique shapes ever - but it was SO spacious, and we loved the that we could see the DC Metro station for King St.-Old Town right from our room. 3. As a Diamond member I was generously upgraded to a corner suite, however, the heating unit went out that services all of those corner suites on all floors. The night staff had to handle it and they tried their best to be accommodating. They moved as many people as their could but they could not move me. It was 56 in my room. They let me borrow a space heater I put on the bedside table and gave me 4 comforters and blankets. I was freezing. Even worse than this, I was not compensated at all for this in points or refund. The parking was inconvenient and cost $40/night. I travel to this area for work a lot and will not be staying here again. I will continue to stay at Hilton Alexandria or Mark Center.

When we arrived they did not have any heat in the rooms! It was a cold night and I told them in the morning that thermostat wasn’t working properly. They said they knew that the heat wasn’t working in any of the rooms and offered us a space heater. It would have been nice to know when or before we checked in. Management lacks integrity at this location. BUYER BEWARE!!

So, I’ve only been to this hotel as a person who hosts events, but I’ve never saw an issue with lobby cleanliness or with hotel staff really either. Everyone is pretty friendly and helpful and Mohammad, the restaurant / bar manager has been taking great care of me and my guests. A 10 out of 10 in my opinion. Thanks and I will be back again.
