Hilton Austin Airport

Stay here a few times a year on business and the property always meets or exceeds expectations. However, I stayed two nights recently on personal business and one particular associate wildly exceeded expectations - Dale, the front desk supervisor! He was able to remedy an issue/request I had and his attention to my plea was the clincher. Dale is a standout in the hospitality business and I am grateful I was able to interact with him.

We had an early flight from ABIA and we usually just get a ride however this time we decided to stay here and this made our early flight so much more convenient. The room is comfortable (got an upgrade) and the digital key is a great feature especially since we wanted to drop off our luggage quickly and then head out to dinner. My only regret was that we had to leave so early so we didn't get to enjoy much time here but will consider this hotel again anytime we have an early flight. The shuttle service was great and yes they do have 24/7 shuttle service.

Positive: The staff was friendly, esp the kitchen staff. The chef was trying out some menu options for the staff and he made an extra plate for my family and I to try! We loved the jerk chicken w brown rice and asparagus. Great kitchen staff and fun to chat with Negative: The only thing about the room we didn't love were the small windows. We like natural light but it was good enough. The location was close to the airport, not so close to where we were spending most of our time. All learned experiences from traveling!

I was rudely awakened this morning t 8:20am!!!! to someone coming in my door without knocking. I assume it was housekeeping. Once they could not get in because of the deadbolt, tjey stopped trying. This time. I was awake for the day. They tried again later without a WORD!! I had to tell them to go away. For this to be such a highly rated motel, I would think the staff would wait until they were told a guest is gone before trying to bust in. I won't be staying there any more because of this. I used to enjoy the motel and its amenities. Thanks for ruining it. Everything else was great.

The rooms were comfortable and the service was great. However, be prepared to walk a distance from the elevator to your room, and being there for a conference, the locations of the breakout sessions were very confusing. I understand that this was not originally designed as a hotel and the history behind the building is very interesting. And this may be the reasoning behind the distance from elevators and confusing conference rooms. Otherwise, rooms were very comfortable, shower was great, hot water, great pressure. Food was good for hotel food, room service came quickly. I would stay here again.
