Heart of Austin Suites

I was told verbally over the phone from one of the employees at the "virtual front-desk", that I would be given a refund; as I realized quickly after booking a room that this is a shared-amenities establishment. Me and my partner were not keen on sharing a bathroom, and the employee told me he understood. He ensured me that I would be receiving a refund, as it would not be difficult for him to fill the room. He is now no longer responding to phone calls or texts. Other phone numbers for this "so-called" hotel have yielded no response. Steer clear of this place if you are looking for a traditional hotel with private rooms, or want to do business with honest people.

SCAM. Do not book here! Went through Expedia and called day of, they informed us (a couple) that we would be sharing a condo with a family?? Sharing the public space (bathrooms, kitchen, living room). What? This is a hostel situation. Do not book here.

There was no sign of it being a professional hospitality business. Arriving at 10 PM, I found myself completely stranded—there was no one available to assist or to provide any sort of customer service. This lack of communication and support at such a late hour forced me to seek alternative accommodations urgently. Due to the last-minute nature of my situation and everything else being booked, I had to spend money on six different Uber rides, searching desperately for a place to stay. DON'T DO IT! We had a very similar horrible experience as I just noticed in another review. Wish I had read that one instead of the others. We could not get into the hotel after a late flight because they said it was too late to check-in, and had to scramble to find another place to stay at the last minute. Then when we tried to go in the morning before the conference, they said it was too early to check-in. Called at lunch during the conference to see if we were good to check-in now, they said they they thought we didn't want the room and cancelled the entire NINE night reservation. Had to scramble again to get another hotel. Asked for a refund, they were rude and said we were a no show. So shady.
