Hampton Inn & Suites Tampa/Ybor City/Downtown

In Ybor city! Walked around after Gasparilla! Parking limited but prepaid at time of reservation. Room is very clean and comfy. Janice from the front desk showed me the path to the trolley-thank you. Hot breakfast at morning. Awesome! Staff friendly, clean hotel and nice breakfast.

Great hotel. Stayed here for one night before a cruise. They allowed us to check in early which was nice since our plane got in at 11am. Room was clean. Breakfast was good with alot of variety. (Pancakes, eggs, meats, cereal, yogurt, danishes) great restaurant next door to go to for lunch or dinner. Got a good price thru AAA. |Only reason I rated it a 4 was because we were supposed to get a shuttle to the cruise port but after waiting for 20 minutes past the pick up time they finally told us they driver wasn't coming for another hour. It would have been nice to know that before we waited 20 minutes. I recommend getting an Uber.

Ok, I’ve been all over the world and stayed at various hotels, so here’s my review. This is coming from an Asian so customer service is highly expected and this hotel didn’t deliver. I’ve read the reviews here before booking, but it’s mixed, so I might as well give it a chance, and I was truly disappointed. I know I will get an AI generated response for this review so who cares but I just have to give my feedback. I do not recommend this hotel for the following reasons. Stayed here for 3 nights at around $170 per night after taxes—way too much for what you get. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The scrambled eggs on the first day were not good: slimy and undercooked. I travel frequently for work and rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was frustrating from start to finish. Upon arrival, my first room had a strong rotten egg smell and the closet door literally fell inward when opened. I had to request a room change immediately, which was inconvenient after a long travel day. While the front desk moved me, there was little acknowledgment of how unacceptable the room condition was. The larger issue, however, was how staff handled the government rate at check in. I was treated with suspicion and questioned in a rude, interrogative manner, with assumptions made that I was improperly using the rate for leisure travel. I enjoyed my one night pre-cruise stay. It was nice being on the trolley line because we needed a few things for the cruise and went to Publix. Also the free shuttle to the port was great. Also, the breakfast was plentiful.
