Hampton Inn & Suites Gainesville-Downtown

Hotel was clean. Staff members were friendly. Breakfast buffet was good. They had coffee in the lobby also. That was much appreciated, because we were so cold when we arrived. The hot drink was nice! We had dinner at a burger place (Relish) that was about a two minute walk from the hotel. It was good also!

Breakfast is a joke - all cutlery and most of the food wrapped in plastic (!) and/or cardboard; machine-produced juices or water; no fresh tomatoes, cucumber or salads - very disappointing. |The "egg-omelets" must have been pre-machine-made - all identical in shape and form - from frozen stuff? Floor in "breakfst room" unpleasently sticky and noisy when walked on.|Coffe-offerings were good though.|Stayed for two nights - prior guest(s) had left an empty bag of "makeup-removal" on top of shower-door; bed was not made during the day, when I came back in the evening. When I asked the clerk why, she didn't know. | "Pool" opens at 09:00 (means no early morning swim). Nice, big bed and room - but this was a huge disappointment.

Positive: I really loved the cleanliness and size of my room, as well as the hotel's location. There was a variety of restaurants within walking distance and the walk after dinner was also pleasant. Negative: Checking out took much longer than expected. I could not tell if he was assisting me or working on another task due to the lack of communication.

I frequently travel for work and have experienced many Hiltons. This was one of my least favorite experiences. When I first came in at 9pm, there was no one at the front desk, but I had already done self check-in on the app so I headed straight for my room only to find they hadn’t provided me my water like they’re supposed to for members. Then the a/c appeared not to be working…in FLORIDA. It was in the high 70s/low 80s today and my thermostat said 65°, yet the fan didn’t come on once and it got really toasty. If I was staying another night, I would have to move rooms or even hotels because of this. Also, the rooms are very dated, and no updates have been made in what looks like 10+ years. The shower had stains, toilet seat was very old and gross, and overall the bathroom wasn’t super clea

Beautiful location near great food, drink, coffee, and entertainment. They have the best breakfast hours ! Tammi is amazing ! She was maintaining an absolutely busy holiday season travel morning with dozens of people coming into the breakfast area. Food was awesome and she was on top of everything with an amazing attitude! We will definitely be returning and recommend 10/10
