Hampton Inn Los Angeles Int'l Airport/Hawthorne

The hotel was a great place to stay at - good location, clean, relatively quiet, indoor pool/hot tub, and complimentary breakfast. The only thing to point out is that parking IS NOT free like is listed on Google. The price is $15/day. The 2nd and 3rd floors of the garage are also only accessible by stairs, so keep that in mind if accessibility is an issue - the 1st floor was almost always completely packed regardless of the time of day.

I chose this hotel because two of our group were going to a game at SoFi stadium and I wanted a hotel where I could watch the game in the lobby until check-in time. We were able to park in the structure, watch in the lobby and finish the game in the room. Then I picked up our group and we went to eat. El Pollo Loco, Red Lobster, and Chilis nearby. Jacuzzi hot tub open until 10pm. Breakfast was great. I think parking $15/night.

Location was hard to find, the side street leading to parking is obscure due to construction in the area. Parking is gated and the code didn’t work. Luckily someone was coming and let me in on foot. My keycard did work though when I entered with my vehicle. Well lit but mostly full. It was easy to find a spot when I arrived that evening and getting back from the gym in the early AM. Hotel seemed to be updated recently in the hallways with newer carpet, fresh paint and artwork. Rooms seemed a bit dated but was large. Breakfast was disappointing. Dry eggs and not many options for healthy eats or protein. I ended up eating yogurt to hold me over until I could get something at the airport lounge. The bed was lumpy and I was disappointed to find the shower was out of body wash and sham

Positive: The morning breakfast was well stocked, the room itself was clean but the other areas of the hotel were dirty. The fitness center was dirty and missing items like towels, paper cups for water, and there was trash around the room. Negative: I didn't like that the room had a strange odor. I really didn't like that I called ahead confirming about the indoor heated pool only to arrive and both the pool and hot tub were not working. The heating system was malfunctioning both days I was there.

Parking is hectic, and everything here is built in a tight space. Bed had a metal prong that wasn't flush with the bed and impelled my leg twice upon moving into the room, which is not very spacious. The floors have no padding underneath the carpeting to cushion your steps. The A/C units may have Legionella, so would be cautious of aerosolized microbes. If the owners invested in a refurbish, this may improve the value of this facility. The front desk staff were friendly overall, but no more than that. No decent restaurants open after 9 pm or so. I wanted to like this hotel, however, it just failed to rise to the occasion in multiple areas.
