Hampton Inn Elizabethtown

Staff (both front desk & breakfast) were magnificent. Went out of their way to help and accommodate us. It was an icy morning and they were very concerned with everyone leaving. They suggested people wait until daybreak to see better. Made everyone feel like guests in their home. Great service. I would give five stars but the toilet in room 216 didn’t flush properly.

We stopped here overnight because of the winter storm. No time to research, we just needed to get off the road. We were greeted at the front desk by Sharon. Our experience was outstanding from that moment on. She was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. Everything around us was closed due to the weather, so nowhere to get dinner. We went down to the lobby with our car snacks, uno, and put Sunday football on. Sharon offered us a frozen meal from the "vending" area. We felt like we were welcomed into someone's home. The next morning we had their free breakfast. The woman in charge of breakfast, I wish I remembered her name, was also amazing. She said she normally doesn't work weekends. The only redeeming quality is the friendliness of the front desk staff. There was even a young lady who started her front desk job this weekend and she was a delight, as were the more seasoned staff members who were training her. Seriously—you all are top notch in that regard. Everything else, however, has been absolutely atrocious this weekend. Elevator out of service…pool out of service…microwave in our room doesn’t work. The icing on the cake, so to speak, has been the incredibly rude female worker who works in the kitchen for the continental breakfast. First, she needs serious coaching on basic manners and communication skills when interacting with guests. For example, instead of saying, “Excuse me” to people, she screams, “Watch yourself!” Um…what? You need to watch YOURSELF,

I stayed at this hotel for a short weekend trip, checking in on Friday night (October 3rd) and checking out on Sunday. Overall, the hotel was decent. I had a first-floor room with high ceilings, which was a nice touch. The room itself appeared clean, though it had a noticeable musky odor that affected the overall feel of the space. While it wasn’t the worst in terms of cleanliness, the smell definitely took away from the experience. What really stood out, however, was the kindness and dedication of the breakfast staff. Huge shoutout to the man and woman working in the breakfast area—they were both absolutely exceptional.
