Hampton Inn Austin NW near The Domain

This hotel is perfectly situated near the Domain, the Arboretum, and 3 major highways. Rooms are a bit dated but clean, and the breakfast area is comfortable. The best part are the staff - extremely conscientious and hardworking. I stayed there 4 times over a few weeks and each time was great.

Clean hotel, helpful staff, good location and breakfast selection was ok, very nice was the waffle maker and the optional milk alternatives that were offered.

By far the worst experience ever at a Hotel. On 3-7-2026, between 16:40 & 17:05, I went to check in at the hotel, off of Braker lane next to the Burger King in Austin Texas. The lady at the front desk greeted my colleague and I, whom were in Austin for military duty. We were in full uniform, too. I was informed by her that I needed to leave a hold on my debit card for incidentals. I explained that I was not comfortable doing so. I was told I needed to leave the hold in order to check in. I told her if I couldn’t check in because of the “incidentals” hold, that she should just cancel my reservation. She replied with a snarky “ok,” as if it were her private on owned hotel. I would strongly caution anyone considering staying here. We stayed here with 30+ families a few weeks ago and rooms were extremely dirty upon arrival — there was dog feces left in one room, which is completely unacceptable and a serious sanitation issue. It was obvious that the room had not been properly cleaned before we checked in. Even more concerning, multiple families who stayed here reported contracting scabies after their visit. Whether due to poor housekeeping standards or inadequate laundering of linens, this raises major health and safety concerns. Cleanliness and guest safety should be the bare minimum expectation at any hotel. Unfortunately, this property failed on both. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others, especially families.

I am writing to formally address a serious health and safety issue regarding our stay at the Hampton Inn Northwest Austin in January. Our family stayed at your property as part of a soccer tournament group involving 30 other families. Within 48 hours of our departure, all four members of my family developed a severe rash. Four different medical professionals have since diagnosed this condition as scabies. My youngest son suffered an allergic reaction to both the parasite and the required treatment, resulting in two separate hospitalizations. Beyond our own experience, another family in our group also developed a rash after check-out, and a third family discovered animal feces in their room upon arrival.
