Hampton Inn Austin East Side 5th Street

I gave three stars because the stay was 4 stars in some ways and 2 stars in others. ||Good: clean, large eating and lounge areas, well designed and good open layout with plenty of tvs. Had a company meeting and our meeting room was generic but nice. Very nice garden and pool area; nice to look at. Bright, wide hallways on each floor. Nice room layout and features. ||Not so good things: the gotta-haves when staying at a place are comfortable bed, good WiFi, decent breakfast, feeling not taken advantage of, and…a hot shower! The good stuff is noted above but they missed on the parking (couldn’t believe I was paying for parking anyway but it was way expensive) AND on the shower, which is a shame. ||In a hotel, you’re supposed to be able to go Arctic in your room and wake up to a hot shower. T

The room was beautiful, very clean, quiet. Great toiletries, Zero% brand, large bottles, you won't run out. The small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, TV, extra blanket were in perfect condition. I appreciated having a thermostat on the wall I could precisely adjust. The lighting: bright in the bathroom, and soft/warm throughout the room. Toothbrush/toothpaste if needed, free at front desk. The breakfast buffet included: good with many options. The staff was very nice and helpful. These details can be the difference between a frustrating or an excellent stay even at a finer hotel. My only criticism: parking included meant street parking, which is scarce quickly. The parking garage is $35 a night, but at least next to the hotel, well lit, and clean. An exce

The hotel was quite new, so everything was fresh and clean.The location is about 15 mins slow walk to the main part of "East 6th", it was doable at night(we did twice arond pm after dinner) but of course like in all cities always be aware of your surroundings. A short ride takes you to Downtown and many hot spots.The included breakfast was quite nice, with fresh coffee. The front office team was really helpful. Overall, was v pleased with our stay.

Maria at the front desk was absolutely amazing—11/10 service! She was quick, accommodating, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. She answered right away when I called for assistance and even switched our rooms without hesitation when we couldn’t figure out the A/C controls. No questions asked. She also let us know that, as honor guests, we were eligible for a later checkout, which was a very nice and unexpected perk. Overall, she was extremely hospitable and made us feel truly taken care of. The rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The only downside of our stay was the shower—there was no hot water at all, so unfortunately I had to take a very cold and uncomfortable shower. We had the most wonderful honeymoon weekend staying here! They gave us the sweetest little welcome gift and handwritten card personalized to us! Lawrence texted us throughout our stay to check in and see if we needed anything. The complimentary breakfast was very yummy and there were a variety of options. The room was very nice and they left cute towel swans that were a bride and groom! Amazing service! We felt very taken care of.
