Hampton Inn Alexandria/Pentagon South

We decided to stay at this location due to the price and proximity to downtown D.C monuments and museums. Staff could have been more friendly and greeted us when entering and exiting. Rooms are dated and have cosmetic flaws through out, common area and bedroom carpets need to be vacuumed better and shampooed. We travel with our 3 year old and didn’t feel that the bedroom floors were clean enough to walk around barefoot. Pillows were flat, too, which made us have to fold them in half to elevate our heads. Location was excellent, though. Only 12 minutes from D.C downtown and other restaurants in the area.

okay, the bad - the wifi is dire, so bad that I ended up using my international data to get anything done. ||The good - I'd have given 5 stars but the wifi was awful. The staff at reception are efficient and friendly, the breakfast is great for the price point, the room was clean, and it was within easy access of touristy things. The neighbourhood around was walkable, and looked pleasant and lived-in, not anonymous McMansions. ||For the price, it's excellent value, and the room had a little seating area too, so it didn't just feel like a bedroom. 100% would recommend.

Positive: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Bottled water was offered at the front desk upon arrival. Negative: Although everything seemed clean, the entire hotel kind of smelled. I think it is due for renovations and somehow clearing the air in there. It's kind of musty and the cleaning supplies add to the odor. My room was so strong I felt ill for a while.

I wasn’t thinking much of this hotel cause it doesn’t look as new or appealing as some of my other choices. But the prices here are good and they didn’t charge me a deposit which I appreciate. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. Staff always say good morning and greet you with a smile. I am enjoying my stay here and would definitely come back when I visit Virginia.

We had a great stay. We booked a room with 2 beds. We didn't use the pool or gym but both were clean. Our room was clean, beds were a little firm but comfortable enough, tons of pillows, shower pressure was excellent. minfridge and microwave in room. excellent wifi, ample free parking. Kevin greated us warmly on arrival and offered bottled water. Plenty of towels and shampoo, etc in the shower. The breakfast was very good. there were cheese omelets, scones, muffins, bagels, premade oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, sausages, cubed potatoes,hardboiled eggs, juice, coffee tea so much more. it was plentiful and kept refreshed. it was 15 minutes to arlington national cemetary, straight down king street about 5 miles was gorgeous Old Town Alexandria. the traffic to D.C. was brutal but easy t
