Gifford House

This was my first time staying at The Gifford Inn, and it was absolutely amazing! The staff and manager were outstanding—super friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, featuring excellent air conditioning, a great TV, and a comfy bed. ||The hotel lobby is cozy, making it the perfect spot for relaxing during the day. The property boasts several bars, including a fantastic lobby piano bar, which all contribute to its lively, social atmosphere. Club Purgatory, my favorite, located on-site, was particularly fun, featuring great energy and an unforgettable Provincetown vibe.||The inn combines comfort and excitement—peaceful for unwinding, and steps away from Commercial Street. My friends and I stayed at Gifford House for Carnival 2025. We were there for 8 nights and had a fantastic time. Would absolutely stay again. Your stay gets you access to all events and bars that Gifford has during this peak week. Absolutely worth it. The location is great, and it is easy to get to wherever you need to be. The staff is fabulous, bartenders are great (Adam was my go-to for my espresso martinis), and there is always something to do. Will be staying here again.

Great hospitality and a super unique place to stay in Ptown. Centrally located and great that there’s parking. Rooms are smaller but comfortable. Certainly not a quiet secluded hotel stay, but the vibes and programming are part of the charm. I expect Gifford House will be a Ptown fixture for many years to come.

I was SO pleasantly surprised by how nice Gifford House is during my recent stay in September 2025. My room and the common areas were kept immaculately clean yet still retained the historical charm of the building, the staff friendly, and the drinks excellent, especially the caipirinhas! I especially loved the live music happening each evening. I’ll definitely be returning to stay.

The Gifford House absolutely saved our trip! After a terrible experience with another inn in town, Steven, the general manager, welcomed us with such kindness and professionalism. He could not believe what we had gone through and immediately found us a room — not only last minute, but upgraded us to a spacious ocean-view room. It was the perfect surprise for a birthday trip and set the tone for an incredible stay. The location simply cannot be beat. You are right in the center of Provincetown, close to everything. And in the evenings, The Gifford House is the place to be — whether you’re enjoying a cocktail by the piano or heading downstairs for a livelier scene.
