Firehouse Hostel

I had a great time here! The female dorm had very comfortable beds with privacy curtains, shelf and outlets. There was a female bathroom on the same floor (I found the largest shower stall had the best hot water). Most of the staff and volunteers were friendly and kind. There are a couple of areas to sit and chill on the third floor but the common room where you can meet others is in the kitchen. Breakfast is basic but included which is nice (bread and usually bagels with butter, cream cheese), coffee and tea and is available 6:30am-11am. The hostel is in the BEST location. I spent a week here and was able to walk to most locations and take buses as well. There were a couple of arranged activities - a pub crawl and game night. This hostel is truly the best. The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfy and the atmosphere is very welcoming. It feels like living with family. It's literally around the corner from 6th street close to everything. Kaz, the sweet British girl makes you feel like you are home. I love when she greets me "Hello Lovely" while shes also knitting. She's so warm and comforting! Anna at the front desk was very sweet and helpful and treated me like a friend from day one. I love coming here and will continue to stay here everytime I'm in Austin.

AMAZING! Easily one of the best hostels I've been to, and I've been to quite a lot. Everything's structured around seasoned travellers, and I love the activities this hostel provides. The kitchen is an amazing one, a great place to hang around. The staff is pretty good, helpful and friendly. Hewie was a amazing one, gonna miss him. The best part is the people I met here and the fun I had hanging out with them. A lot of cool people come to this hostel!

This place is amazing, the staff are so kind, and I met so many wonderful people here. I haven't been to too many hostels, but this one takes the cake absolutely. I definitely will be coming back here in the future. It's perfectly placed downtown. Jackie is amazing! Sophia is kind. John has a wonderful smile. I've met so many people around the world, had pleasant conversations with them. Good 5 out of 5 stars for me PS. I have a message for those who snore. A handful of you are able to emit such a low and loud vibration, it's capable of traveling through the wooden bunk beds, into my pillow, and through my soul. You currently have the ability to bypass my earbud's noise cancellation feature, which is wicked. I have a question, why? Why go to a hostel with three other strangers in a room?
