Fairy Meadows

It’s June 30, 2025, when I was hiking with my friends around the Fairy Meadow on the Fairy Falls Trail, I met a cute Tamia—the scientific name for a chipmunk, though this little one looked more like a golden-mantled ground squirrel. It stood upright on a sun-warmed boulder, paws tucked to its chest like it had a secret to keep. We paused, enchanted, as it stared back at us with wide, curious eyes. Behind it, the lush greenery swayed gently in the mountain breeze, and the distant sound of falling water echoed from the direction of Fairy Falls. This little creature seemed completely unbothered by our presence. In fact, it tilted its head as if to say, “You folks come here often?” It didn’t run, didn’t hide—just posed proudly like a tiny guardian of the meadows. One of my friends whispered,

Not worth the hike. A tiny clearing in the woods. No real views and I would definitely not call this a "meadow". Just stay on the main trail. SUPER buggy and more mosquitos then the main trail.

Site is located in thick new growth woods, no views, no water. Mosquitos loved it, I didn't. I recommend booking a different site if you have a choice.
