Amazing cozy campground very well positioned for an intermediate stop in Yellowstone. Lamar Valley is just few miles away and is an absolutely must do at the sunset. The campground itself is very basic with vault toilets. The spots are well spaced and equipped with a bear box and a pic nic table. The camp host was very nice and welcoming. There are no showers but for 5$ + tax you can enjoy unlimited shower (+ soap and shampoo) at the roosevelt lodge, 5 miles north. Definitely recommended!
This campground was too primitive for me, and and I refused to stay there. I forfeited the money, and cut my Yellowstone visit short. The loop road is narrow, steep uphill and graveled. Wide just enough for one car. The site was small, not leveled and inclined. Vault toilets- stinky and dirty. Please, make sure to know what it is and decide if it is acceptable or you.
The campground host was so nice and checked in on us. There are many bears in the upper Yellowstone loop going there and nearby when we were out driving and walking. The views up there are gorgeous and it’s nice and quiet and the bathrooms were some of the cleanest I’ve seen in campgrounds.
This is a nice small campground between Lamar valley and canyon valley … host was super nice .. this place is frequented with animals so look out always… 20$ a night and only tents … u hear water sound from the creek …
We camped here 3 days in June. The host is a very friendly lady and very helpful. At this campground there is only a pit toilet but it didn't smell bad. If you want you can take a shower at the Roosevelt lodge nearby.||When you want to camp here you really need to be here before 9am because it's first come, first serve. It's a small campground and very quiet. You often can spot a black bear here.||The ranger Programm about the wolves was very interesting and made us wake up very early the next day to go a watch some wolves in the area.
