Went on a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park. We saw online that pebble creek was one of the last campgrounds in the park to fill up each day. So we made our plans to get to that campground. It was amazing! There was wildlife all over, birds, bison, etc. There a small river flowing right next to the sites. There's no electricity and the toilet facilities are waterless. It's truly a top notch camp site for those that really want to live with nature right outside their g Tent/camper

Pebble Creek was our favorite campground in Yellowstone National Park. A less crowded area of the park, probably why we loved it! 27 sites and all are available first come first serve - no reservations! The location and lack of reservations make this a quiet, peaceful campground. It sits at 6900 feet elevation. All sites have a table, fire ring, and food storage locker - it is bear country! There are vault toilets and seasonally there is potable drinking water. Our first night there we stayed in one of the "pull out sites" on the west side of the campground. It was ok, however they are not true pull outs, you just park on the side of the park road.... not bad considering the low use of this campground. On our second night we scored a spot on the east side right across from Pebble Creek....

My wife and I had a great time tent camping at Pebble Creek. We visited Yellowstone specifically for wildlife viewing, so it's location in Lamar Valley was perfect. Although the one day we spent in the thermal areas required a long drive, our remote location was worth it! Our site, #25, was perfect--five stars. However, we got very lucky (hence the 4 star overall rating). The other sites away from the creek were not as nice--very close to one another. Get there early, around 6:30am, and hope for one of the sites near the creek.

We've decided that Pebble Creek is our favorite campground ever. We car camped for 2 nights in Aug 2021. Currently, sites 1-16 are reservation only, and sites 17-27 are FCFS. If you can't get a reservation, watch the park website where they list the times each campground filled up the day before and try your hardest to get there early and get a spot. You will not be disappointed! We lucked out and arrived on a rainy 50* day, so there were a few sites available. We got site 11 our first night. It's tucked into the center of the campground under a canopy of trees, complete with a tent pad, picnic table and bear box. The next morning we were able to secure the site we were really after, site 26, which has the best views in our opinion! Pebble Creek runs down from the mountains directly across

Pebble Creek Trail has easy access from Route 212 just NE of the Pebble Creek Campground in Yellowstone National Park. My family hiked a good part of the trail. The trail isn’t technical; my kids ages 4 and 7 didn’t have any trouble hiking it. We didn’t see any large wildlife, but we did see lots of scat on the trail to indicate multiple species close by. The trail meets the creek from time to time. The water is ice cold but nice for a foot soak. The trail is approximately 109 miles from Powell, WY and I would hike it again.
