Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Lancaster East at The Outlets

We used to love coming here, but lately things have been slipping. No shampoo or conditioner in the dispensers. Toilet running through the night. But it was corrected once brought to their attention. The seat's in the dining room need major updates. I had three pulls in my skirt from the seat's.

I've stayed at this location multiple times over the last few years. Overall, this is a good choice in the area. The common areas are clean and look nice. Rooms are large and quiet and have everything you need. Beds are comfortable. While the rooms are clean overall, other than an extremely dusty vent by the door, they are probably in need of a refresh. Minor things really, like the caulking in the shower/tub needs replacement, ac unit had a broken door, some wear and tear on furniture, curtains have seen better days. From what I understand, this location was built 8 or 9 years ago, so a scheduled refresh may be on the books or possibly started already. Breakfast was solid for what it is.

Positive: Location to Dutch Wonderland. Literally walking distance and that was a plus as parking at the park can be up to $30.00. Negative: Hotel ran out of hot water for showers and baths by 9am. Hotel did not replenish the breakfast buffet fast enough to serve all of their guests. Indoor pool was small, cold water and cold room, no towels provided to swimmers.

DOUBLE CHARGE I booked a stay using a Marriott Free Night Award. Due to bad weather, I called the hotel one day in advance to ask about cancellation and was told that cancellation was not allowed without losing what I had paid. Based on that, I kept the reservation in case travel became possible. The next day the hotel called to ask if I was arriving, and I confirmed that I could not. The following day, I noticed an additional charge for one night posted to my credit card. I contacted the hotel to report what appeared to be a double charge, since the reservation had already been paid for with a Free Night Award. The receptionist stated that she needed to consult with her manager and would follow up by email. Three days passed without any response or refund to the credit card. I called

Stayed here for 3 nights to take a toddler to Dutch Wonderland for Happy Hauntings. A noreaster came through and kind of wrecked those plans so we spent a bit more time in the hotel than would've liked, re-planning. Overall, I'd say this hotel is mediocre but I'd absolutely stay here again. ** Important: I booked direct with Marriott. I do wholeheartedly think this matters when it comes to getting a good room. Please clarify in hotel reviews if you booked direct or with some third party like Expedia, hotels.com, etc.!
