Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Dunn I-95

We stayed overnight on February 23 in room 222. Upon arriving at our room, we found dried urine on the toilet seat, which was very concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. Additionally, while taking a shower, we discovered that the shower was not draining properly. The water pooled well above our ankles, making it extremely uncomfortable to use. Aside from that, staff were friendly and beds were comfortable.

Nice hotel. Very clean. Host was very yuh nice, formal, and knowledgeable. Will return.

Stayed for one night to get a break from 95 and found the rooms to be spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and kind. The breakfast had good options for a quick bite before hitting the road and was well maintained. The shower pressure was lacking, but otherwise I was very happy with my stay.

Our Families' (maybe 10 different families) experience regarding both hotel rooms/service was excellent! My wife and I have travelled the world, had various experiences, some good, some fair, and some very accommodating. But this recent stay at this location (Dunn 1-95) was "EXCELLENT" in every way. For starters, the main manager, John Prophet, was totally professional in every facet of his and his staff's services. I could not help but personally thank him on almost every occasion he went above and beyond to address our needs. Based on his extraordinary service, we shall use this location again and again when in NC. We are NYers and travel at least 5-6 times per year. Please extend our thanks to John & staff.

This room smells strongly of mildew—especially the bathroom. I’m used to walking into hotels that at least smell clean or have some kind of air freshener. Here, there didn’t seem to be any attempt to address or mask the odor, and many other guests mention the same issue in their reviews. I honestly don’t understand how this place has such high ratings because, beyond the smell, the room also looks dirty. The lighting is poor, and there’s visible rust and an overall neglected feel. We arrived late, so switching hotels wasn’t an option, but I won’t even shower here. It’s 5:00 a.m. and I’m still here, just waiting for my husband to wake up so we can leave. I won’t rely on hotel review scores the same way again, and I will never stay here again—even though the staff was very nice.
