Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Albany

This was my first time staying at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Albany, Georgia. I've stayed at others in other cities which was very pleasant. While the checkin process was exceptional with Sophia, we had several issues to happen while we were there. The first room that we were assigned had a huge bug in the shower which scared us immensely. However. We were given another room by Sophia and she apologized for the inconvenience. We noticed how thin the walls are. We could hear everything in both rooms on each side of us. We could literally hear the water running in one room and the occupant of the other room blowing his nose. There was also a vinegary smell coming out of the AC unit every time we turned it on. We bought some small space deodorizers to dispel the smell but it was still there.

I would like to leave a review on the extremely helpful employee here at Fairfield Inn! Her name is Alicia! She went above and beyond in every way to help accommodate my team for our 6 rooms for the week. It’s worth mentioning that the website said there was no vacancy to accommodate 6 rooms, but she worked her magic! She got us all in and did it with a smile on her face. I wish everyone that worked with the public had her attitude! The rooms are good. We did have one room that smelt like cigarette smoke, and she quickly got me a new room! She deserves a pay raise for her awesomeness! Thanks Alicia!

The one thing great about this hotel was the young lady that checked us in. She was very nice and courteous! Unfortunately, that was it. These rooms are awful! Set up is horrible. The sofa and chair are uncomfortable and ugly! There is a small tv in living area and ugly tv stand with a big cut out of nothing. This place is very dated. Carpet is nasty. This place needs a makeover. Luckily, bed was clean and comfortable.

We only stayed a few hours, being that we were on our way to honeymoon destination. We checked in sometime just before midnight and checked out before 9:00 am. Jennifer was working front desk when we arrived. She was nice but seemed distracted with stocking kitchen (I think?) and seemed annoyed but not rude when we wanted to purchase snacks from the "market" (very overpriced). At check out, a different lady was there (didn't catch her name) and Jennifer had not taken our phone number or email the night before, so this lady had to update our info so she could send me a receipt. She also printed me one at my request, which is good, because I never received the email. Room was clean, smelled fresh. Pillows are terrible...use three and you might create a pillow. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We walked in the door, after having a terrible experience at another hotel down the road, and asked if they had any rooms available. Adrian greeted us and was very helpful and accommodating. She made what had been a poor experience at an another hotel down the road into an excellent experience at Fairfield. The rooms were very clean. The mattress was extremely comfortable, which is unusual for a hotel bed. We were more than pleased with our experience here! Would highly recommend this hotel!
