Chehaw Campground

This was a rare find! We stopped at the Albany Welcome Center after the Riverquarium and they gave us some brochures for Cheehaw Zoo. We had no idea it was even there! And then when we arrived it was a whole campground/park. The grounds were really nice. The zoo was great! Didn't expect to see so many animals! And the zookeeper who was feeding g all of the animals was really nice and talked to everybody about the animals. It was an enjoyable visit. Highly recommend!

Very surprised by campground sites are very spacious and the zoo is really cool. One thing that i should say is that bathrooms are very old and outdated. Not dirty they were clean but the paint is peeling off the walls and doors are rusty. But overall, wonderfull park.

What a great place to camp! This place was so quiet and peaceful. The spaces are huge and a great place to spend time camping. The bathrooms were okay - could use some renovation- but at least they're available. :) There's a disc golf course in the park as well as a small zoo that's inexpensive and a nice place to visit. There's also a huge playground area for kids and picnic pavilions. We planned to spend one night and loved it so much we stayed for three!

This is a quiet, clean location. I stayed in a cabin but the RV spots were large and there were pull through and back in spots in the campground area. The tent area is quiet and has a set of bathrooms close to the tent area. The only negative thing I can say is that the bathrooms and shower need updating. Everything else was amazing.

If I could give 10 stars I would. We did a dart on a map adventure and this is where we wound up, cabin was perfect, we were able to dodge the rain, have the most wonderful campfire, people were friendly, zoo was adorable, and the price could not be beat! The playground is every kids dream come true, and the rc car and dirt bike tracks were super cool too! Love this place!
