FairBridge Inn & Suites Merced/Gateway to Yosemite

I was pleasantly surprised & highly recommend for some people- rooms are well lit and feel nice. Seems like work went into renovating this motel. Outside lighting makes hotel feel comfortable. We stayed here before an evening half dome hike & had our own food so we’re not looking for a motel breakfast or a pool. It is about a 2 hour drive to Yosemite valley so makes a nice stay if you’re prioritizing an inexpensive, comfortable sleep, although is not in a touristy area and would be a drive to the park. AC was loud which didn’t bother us, but could bother some lighter sleepers

I was not planning to stay in a motel on this night but I hit the wall on my road trip as I was driving by this place. It looked clean, so I backtracked to inquire. I figured during peak tourist season, spur of the moment, they'd be full AND super expensive. Surprisingly they had a room and it was under $100. ||||The room was quiet, well equipped, and clean. The grounds were spotless. Seeing some of the bad reviews, I suspect that the motel has been recently updated and perhaps is under new management. The floors were clean, as was the bathroom.

Pretty good for a 2 star hotel. Would stay again. Clean rooms, appear to have been recently renovated. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. One of the towels was a little stained but everything smelled like cleaner so I'm not too worried. Being next to the highway can suck without earplugs, luckily I brought mine. Nothing to complain about really.

When I got there I thought we were going to have to listen to highway traffic all night but got in the room and couldn't hear any outside noise

DON'T STAY HERE. Their towels are so dingy, it looks like they clean with them then give them to their guest to use. Their bathrooms are a mess. The shower curtain is dirty and falling apart. The bathroom smells like mildew. The pillow cases look dirty too. Their renovations look like they did it themselves. I could add so much more things that was wrong with the room but all i'll say is this place is horrible.
