TownePlace Suites by Marriott Merced

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago and remembered I needed to do a review. The rooms were spacious with good amenities. We had a hiccup of the center table with lamp and plugs not working. That being said, we called the front desk and Alejandra got us settled into another room right away. She first verified that all was well with the room before she moved us. The beds are super comfy! Then came the next day, breakfast at Townplace Suites is no ordinary breakfast. Kit, the very nice lady taking care of the breakfast area, was on point making sure everything was clean, that there were plenty of options, and super friendly and helpful. I felt I was at a good breakfast restaurant not a hotel. One big point I want to say... the gravy with the sausage breakfast sandwiches, OMG, so delicious!

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel during my interim work assignment in Merced. I was there from mid March until mid July. The hotel was clean and well maintained but the thing that stood out the most for me were the employees. |I do not recall all the names but in every area of the building I experienced kindness and professionalism. They were all friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. |Specialty shout out to “Kit” in food services. She made my breakfast stop feel warm and inviting. She’s a gem! 😊|Also I think my housekeeper’s name is Cassandra. Unfortunately I never met her in person but she was AMAZING!!!! My room gleamed after she had been inside of it. Positive: Staff was excellent Negative: Traveling RN cleaning out the coffee, hard boiled eggs and all the creamers to give to the homeless. Had to wait for breakfast due to this abuse.

I was planning a longer visit to town, so I thought I’d try TownePlace. Usually, I stay at the Marriott Courtyard, but since I’d be here for a few days, I wanted to make the most of the kitchen. When I arrived, Evelyn was so welcoming and took care of my check-in. She also gave me a rundown of all the hotel’s features. My room was spotless and tidy, and there were extra towels, just like I asked for in the app—thank you, Luz! The gym is great and open 24/7, so I could get my workouts in during the mornings. The breakfast was also delicious. Thank you, Kit. The area was well-kept, and she even helped me with the waffle maker. Easy access to freeway and small local conveniences. Needed a one-night stay. Staff were friendly. Our room had a musky smell. Our TV needed to be hooked up but maintenance quickly assisted. Next morning we found out the bathrooms outlets didn’t work which made it a challenge to get ready. Let the front desk know upon checking out.
