El Capitan Hotel

Checked in for my birthday. The Mgr Robert upgraded my room that was very nice. The hotel is amazing inside. Plenty of space to escape and relax with an outdoor patio, the cafe and a lounge space. I used the valet parking and that went smooth without a hitch. The staff was pleasant answered all my curious questions and was very helpful in explaining where my room was and the amenities. The room was spacious, clean, big window, tv and comfortable bed. One thing I was missing is a Keurig for coffee. There is instant coffee provided in a single serving bag with a hot water pot. They provide a robe to wear and purchase if you like but they are very small. The bathroom was clean they provide shampoo, body wash and conditioner but I always travel with my own things. We stayed here for one night on our way to a club soccer game in Clovis. It was my wife and daughter (soccer player) as well as our golden retriever. This place was kind of a random choice but it was really an excellent little hotel. The rooms were great. Good restaurant and cafe option and the service was just fantastic. I cannot say enough about how pleasant it was interacting with everyone at the hotel, from the valet/doormen, to the front desk, to the restaurant management. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make everything easy. They even had a sign welcoming our golden retriever and gave him toys and a treat. Our entire family would welcome the opportunity to come back to this little boutique hotel. Great job.

Loved our stay here! Elegant old hotel with updated everything...but still retains a classic charm. Room was comfortable and clean with all new fittings and fixtures. (I was kind of hoping for a more antique/vintage/original feel, but once we were settled in, I appreciated the modernity of all the appointments).Cocktail from the bar was fantastic! The seating areas off the lobby were comfortable and pleasant to use. Dinner at the restaurant was elegant. Breakfast at the cafe was delicious (coffee and savory pastry). Staff were all friendly, helpful and accommodating.Highly recommend.

Loved the atmosphere of the hotel. The front desk agents were welcoming and kind. The cocktails at the on-site bar and café, Native Son, were amazing and I had great conversations with the bartenders. I loved the room, so eclectic, and it had a mini fridge and a TV with the option to connect to streaming services. It was so clean and comfortable in the room. Multiple hotels and bars, a movie theater, and a little arcade nearby.

Stayed at El Capitain hotel in Merced last night. Very lovely hotel with a perfect little coffee shop, decent restaurant, and beautiful options around the hotel to sit with some friends or your laptop. The rooms are typical business hotel rooms, but with little extra touches like coat hooks on the wall, nice bathrobes, hallways that look attractive. Windows are open-able which I appreciate. Loved this place!
