Extended Stay America - Winston-Salem - Hanes Mall Blvd.

We booked this online before seeing the hotel in person. It was cheap at $70/night for a king suite. ||Sadly I didn’t research it enough to know it had outdoor entrances. I try to avoid these hotels as they just generally feel unsafe. And to add to it, they had a security guard patrolling the “halls”. I’m glad they increase security, but makes me nervous as to why that is needed. I don’t know the area, so don’t know if this neighborhood is safe or not. ||Cleanliness-|Yuck. This isn’t a room I feel great walking around barefoot. Needed a good mopping. The towel you put on the floor to step out of the tub was dark brown after 2 people showered. ||Staff- |Check in desk staff was friendly and accommodating. ||Amenities-|Few bathroom essentials included. No breakfast available. ||Comfort-|Nice

Since staying here, I have had amazing service! The rooms are very clean. The ladies I'm the office are always helpful and the house keepers always ask to see if you need anything. Haven't stayed in a hotel that was ran so well in a long time! I recommend staying here to work, vacation,just passing through or to stay a little extra bit. Has a laundry room with a snack machine and a drink machine. I really have enjoyed my stay. And it's quiet at night not a lot of activity through here disturbing you. Love it!!!

As is often said, you Do usually get what you pay for, and this hotel was very budget priced. When I'd looked on the Choice website, the hotel was listed as "excellent," and verified guests had raved about how clean it was. So - I decided to take a chance for a 2-nite stay. It was cheap (2 nights cost was equivalent to 1 night in another Choice hotel) and I thought the kitchenette would be handy to have cereal in the mornings. Unfortunately, they do not have any dishes or cutlery available in the kitchenettes due to "loss" (translated "theft"), which was a bummer. There was not even an ice cube tray, but the nice man at the desk loaned me a tray to use - since they don't have ice machines. We have stayed here 2 times now, and the second time by far was terrible. We checked in Sat evening. I booked online. The price was reasonable, and the location was great. We booked a double queen. Upon arriving in the room, it smelled like cigarettes so bad. I went to the office to let them know, and the employee came to my room with an empty can of air freshener and proceeded to spray into the air conditioner. 🙃 This room had a stovetop and a microwave, as well as a small sink and refrigerator. The stovetop had food and debris on it. The countertops had great and grime all over them. The fridge was small but worked effectively. The bathroom was nasty, the toilet was not cleaned, the shower had mildew, and the shower curtain was nasty as well. The floors hadn't been swept or mopped ever.

Decent rooms. Nice staff. The pet fee is a little high. They should require a deposit not a daily fee. Almost 500 a month for a cat is extreme. Its slightly discounted when paying weekly. Slightly. They should have some kind of continental breakfast. All in all its a good place for a decent rate. I would recommend it to my family and friends
