Edge of Town Motel

Young women, do not go here without men. If you have allergies, DO NOT GO HERE! The owner made inappropriate comments to us right away. Commented on bachelorette parties and girls getting drunk and bringing blow up dolls since they came without men. There are dehumidifiers in every room, which shows there is a moisture/mold problem. I barely made it in the room for 10 mins before getting a headache. We stood outside the room in fresh air to find a new place to stay. When we went to tell the owner we were checking out due to my allergy issues, he offered us another room, but we declined due to the dehumidifiers. Great place to stay in Door County! Room was very clean, comfortable and larger than expected. Kim was always available, and did a great job explaining everything (including some very interesting things about the area). Definitely going to stay here again.

This was the perfect place for us to stay. We were going to be at Northern Sky in the evening only really just needed a place to sleep. Joan was extremely friendly on the phone when I made the reservation. The cost was very reasonable. I was pleased when I saw the room: large and clean. The office is open 24/7 with snacks and “essentials”. The comforter and pillows were wonderful, and it was very quiet. Perfect.

Made a last minute decision to get away over the holiday,but was afraid wouldn't find any affordable place for just 1 night. Surprise! Found Edge of Town Motel in Sister Bay had a last minute cancellation. Affordable, pet loving and super nice folks that own the place. Our room was terrific too. Two comfortable beds, good shower and even a light breakfast option in the morning. Will definitely go back and would recommend to others who are budget conscious and don't need 5 stars to be happy. This had been a great place to stay, and it has been run more as a family operation. Great motel owner, and a very friendly host. She goes out of her way to accommodate guests. "But" this is the last visit under her ownership. Sadly to say (for us) she is retiring, and had sold the motel. We met the new owner today, and it seems to be going the way of strictly a business. We'll have to see how the transition goes, and if it will stay so reasonable as before.
