Economy Inn

I can't recommend the Economy Inn on N Interstate enough. While it is a motel, it feels much more like a cozy, secure little community, especially for long-term stays. My friend has lived here for over a year and consistently reports being treated with the utmost respect and kindness by the staff. The level of service here is excellent. The housekeeping staff does an absolutely superb job—rooms are kept clean and linens, towels, and toiletries are always promptly restocked. It is, without a doubt, the cleanest motel on Interstate Ave. Security is also a strong point. The owner is diligent about watching the camera footage, which makes the premises feel very secure. The motel looks rather down from the outside, the rooms however are very nicely decorated in nice colors. The room was large, the bed very comfortable and there was a fridge. Good breakfast possibilities within walking distance, as well as public transport.||The bathroom was in contrast to the room very small and stuffy. There was neither a hair dryer nor an iron, which I am now used to in the USA as a standard.||All in all a good value for your money. Since we only spent one day in the city and the other at the Columbia River Gorge, an expensive city hotel would not pay for us. Portland has an unusually well-developed public transport, so we also liked the location of the motel good.

Positive: Location. Front desk attendant was also very helpful with food/entertainment options in the area. Negative: No.

While the reason for my stay at the Economy weren't to the best, the owner is an extremely nice guy and put up with me for an extended stay, which was also not planned. While I was there I noticed that he takes great care of his place, always doing something to better the establishment. I would recommend anyone to stay there if you're on that side of town. Pretty chill spot if you ask me.

This motel is my go-to! The owner and employees including housekeeping are incredibly friendly, the rooms are sooo clean it’s crazy if you compare it to other motels on interstate.. AND the price! Incredible all around!
