Econo Lodge Birmingham - Hoover

I stayed at this hotel from 12/25–12/27, and it was a terrible experience. The room had roaches crawling on the floor and walls, and there were also bed bugs. I woke up with bites and felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe sleeping there. I reported the issue to the front desk during my stay, but the response was dismissive and no real action was taken. Given the severity of the situation, I requested a refund, but it was not properly addressed. This is a serious cleanliness and health concern. A hotel should at minimum provide a clean, pest-free room, and this place failed. I would strongly recommend avoiding this property.

Bed bugs attacked me and my family. Roaches everywhere. Dirty towels and bed sheets. Sink handle came completely apart when I turned on the water. Microwave didn’t work at all. Fridge was hot. This place is terrible. When I asked for a refund they refused and then deleted my stay from the choice system

Positive: The bed was comfortable Negative: It was not safe, crack in the door, the door lock didn’t work , fire alarm went off at 4 in the morning

The most horrific place where I ever stayed! I did cross country tripS! Never seen this before, I used so many motels, hostels even truck stops. So dirty. Not cleaned. Not sure how hotel is still alive. Mold is there, floor is not even swapped. Towels and pillows have stains. Do NOT stay here, even if you think you need a place to sleep - sleep in your car! DO NOT STAY here!

I stayed 3 nights. The hotel is dated, many items don't work, no ice machine, floors are dirty, and the walls are paper thin so you hear "everything" from people in the next room. However, the bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels were fresh and clean. Can not comment on any breakfast since the lobby doors were locked each morning. This hotel is inexpensive so expect to get a cheap poorly maintained hotel.
