DoubleTree by Hilton Newark Penn Station

Do not expect the kind of service provided by any Hilton property. This property is way behind others.||Issues:|1. The bathroom sink and the bath tub were clogged making the draining of the water take ages. This was right on day 1. This is something that should have been a part of routine check.|2. Some of the front desk staff seem to have an attitude and are not patient to respond to queries.|3. The house keeping was not done in the room on two days of my stay. I had not left any 'Do not disturb' signs on the door. Moreover, I was also not in the room and this could have been carried out without any issue.|4. While checking in, the staff should have mentioned about breakfast options like they do in every other Hilton property. They did not do this.|5. There is no clear instruction on how

I can’t deny the facilities are old, hopefully they will do renovations soon… in spite of that I recommend this hotel as the staffs are very very kind and nice, the location is perfect! Especially good for those who visits there by Amtrack and plans to go to Prudencia Center.

Check-in was seamless quick, efficient, and handled by staff who were genuinely warm while staying completely professional. The room was spotless and remarkably quiet, breakfast was fresh and satisfying, and the calm street outside meant we slept soundly all night. For the price, the comfort and service are hard to beat, and I'd happily return.

The most disappointing hotel experience I have had. Especially in terms of customer service, which I found revolting. I have worked myself in the tourist industry and I have never experience such lack of interest for their visitors. Beginning with the check in, none og the three representatives who were at the reception at the time acknowledged us for a couple of minutes. I had to ask them whether it was the place for checking in. We did not get even a good afternoon, welcome to the hotel. The woman who checked us in seemed extremely annoyed by our presence, so asking her anything was a sort of a roulette (she did not like to be asked about the breakfast service). But that is just the first example of the interactions with people at the front desk. So, all and all… the staff in this hotel

I would absolutely avoid this hotel at all costs. Me, my husband, and my 13 year old were in Newark to see the USWNT play in the SheBelieves Cup. We drove up Saturday morning for the game and we were planning on staying in this hotel for the night and leaving the next day. We decided to drive back to Virginia (6 hour drive overnight) because we were so grossed out. First, the room was disgusting. The sheets on the beds had visible dirt marks when we pulled the covers back. The body wash in the shower was completely empty. Replacing toiletries is a very basic task when cleaning and turning over a room! Unfortunately that wasn't even the worst part of the bathroom. We didn't notice until after my husband took a shower but there was dried poop on the floor between the toilet and the tub! When
