Courtyard by Marriott Newark Downtown

Nice experience. It was a typical old school Courtyard with a bath tub. I was on the side facing the street on the top, 7th floor. I could hear traffic, but it was not obnoxious. It's Newark, but you wouldn't be reading this review if you were not ok with that. Check in and out easy. Clean. It's attached to the parking garage, and beyond that is the Prudential Center. Coffee maker and fridge but no microwave. Friendly staff. Would return.

Overall hotel experience was very solid. Some extra security protocols were a little confusing at first accessing from the garage but was easy once we got our keys. Front desk service super nice, room was comfortable, will return next time we need to stay in the area!

My experience at this hotel was not a good one, when we first arrived and got on the elevator there were cigarette and ashes on the floor in the elevator. I had to wait 1 hour for my room , even though I already had a reservation. I finally get to my room #405 which is a mini sweet, there was a mildew smell , someone's leftover food was in my mini fridge, the housekeeping operations manager named Arnae came up to my room to confirm what was told to her , her eyes were really red and she smelled like marijuana, and kept laughing. Which I found strange because I was explaining to her that this was unacceptable, then she had one of the workers put a big loud machine in the front room of The suite, which was very noisy an uncomfortable honestly. We came to town for a game at the Prudential Center. What a sweet set up: the hotel, the parking garage, and the arena are all connected, which is very convenient on a January night. As for the hotel itself: every member of the staff that we encountered was pleasant and professional. Some parts of the hotel are a bit dated, but the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the shower was great! And let me say again: great staff.
