Add another review - Janice?, the breakfast attendant is amazing. She remembered us and made sure we happy. And the carpet in the room we got this time is very clean! :D ——- I really love this hotel! The heated pool is heated! Kai at the front was phenomenal, one of a kind, a service mind that hard to find nowadays. The breakfast attendant and cooks made sure we were full with fresh cooked hot food. My son loved the quality of toilet paper. Ha. The quality of linen is outstanding, silky and not smell like bleach. One star deducted due to the carpet. It just needed to be shampooed soon.

Positive: It was clean, comfortable and a great value for our 1 night stay. Negative: There was a problem with the room heating system in room 216, in that the heater continued to run after the room set point was reached. We learned to deal with it for 1 night, but would have asked for a repair or another room if we were staying longer.

I'll start with saying Robinson at the front desk was great and the room was clean and looked fine. Why 3 stars: firstly it's a "3-Star hotel" but doesn't exceed the last several 2-stars I've stayed at. Then the issues: smoke detector started chirping. Maintenance person came immediately and worked on it, but left without ensuring it was fixed. It wasn't. They gave me another room. The 2nd room had a heat/AC unit that did not go cold and the room was roughly 78 degrees. Also some edges of the walls were starting to peel, just not the type of thing that says "3-Star" to me.

The Doubletree at Brookfield is one of those hotels that rises one step above a super eight. The beds are hard as rocks, management does not appropriately update their website, the in-house restaurant only has a dozen or so items on the menu and none of them are prepared especially well. If you like a hot shower in the morning, you will be sorely disappointed as the water never reaches a temperature above tepid. There is not a single thing other than the location if you happen to need a hotel in this area that would recommend this place to any traveler. Even tonight at the restaurant, the bartender was so busy telling the clientele about her family’s health issues that she was incapable of monitoring the needs of the rest of the patrons.
