If looking for hotels near the port of LA, there are very few choices if you want somewhere clean, safe and has food available too. The fact that the Double Tree by Hilton offered a 'free' shuttle to the port and we had the ASSUMPTION it would be very nice due to the Double Tree name, we paid an exceptionally high price to stay there the night prior our cruise. However, we were so disappointed. After booking (3 weeks prior arrival), we called and left a message that we needed a shuttle scheduled at 11:30 am. The person we spoke to wrote a note concerning our request on our reservation. When we arrived at 7:00pm, we were informed only at this time, that their policy is to never reserve the shuttle ahead of time for clients "because people might cancel" and that we couldn't book a shuttle no

I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Pedro – Port of Los Angeles from January 17 to January 18, 2026, while traveling from Las Vegas with my family, and unfortunately this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.||From the moment we entered the room, it was clear that cleanliness and maintenance were major issues. The room was not properly cleaned – there was visible dirt and marks on the walls, dust in different areas, and the overall condition felt neglected and uncomfortable. It definitely did not feel like a room that had been prepared for new guests.||The bathroom was also a problem. The restroom door would not close at all, which was both inconvenient and awkward. This is a basic function that should be checked before a room is given to guests.||The room setup was poorly

Let’s start with the positives. The location is beautiful and a view of the harbor is lovely. The staff was welcoming and the lobby was large to accommodate lots of people. We got there early in the day due to an early flight and were told they’d put a note to get the room ready early as I was not feeling well. After awhile we checked again and they said “soon.” Two hours later were we told “15 minutes.” It was clear everyone else was told the same thing. Room was ready a couple minutes before 4. If we had been told that from the beginning it would’ve been much better. There were no trash cans at all in the lobby or outside on the patio. We had to hold onto our food bags til we got to our room. Once we got off the elevator going to our room the floors were filthy. Looked like they hadn’t b

Positive: Staff very accommodating to store luggage before check in time. Negative: Restaurant seemed a bit overpriced. No complimentary coffee or easy way to get water (had to ask restaurant staff).

I had high hopes for this hotel based on location and brand reputation. Upon arriving, the front desk was not welcoming nor pleasant. The guy acted like we were bothering him when we checked in. He barely mumbled words to us and if we asked him a question about recommendations nearby, he grumbled his answer. When we interacted with the woman at the front desk later in the day to purchase something from the little snack bar, she was even less pleasant. The rooms were just okay. The bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have expected. The cookie, though, 5 stars. The location itself was on the water and beautiful. It was an easy drive to the Port of Los Angeles.
