DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport

Very disappointing. I am handicapped and I booked a room with a king size bed and with a roll in shower a month ago. Called the hotel early to let them know I would not be checking in until about 10pm, they said no problem. I went to check in when I arrived and I made sure it was the room I booked, they said it was. I noticed there were no luggage carts, I asked if they had any, I was told they were all being used. Once again, i explained I am handicapped and my husband could not carry all our luggage up to the 12th floor alone. The lovely girl who originally helped me told me she would get me one, and she did. My husband loaded up all the luggage and we went up to the room they gave us, 1222. When we got in the room it was 2 double beds. The room was awful. Not the beautiful room i booke

From the beginning the hotel shuttle was amazing. Mr Hanne was so sweet and explained all about the shuttle, when it picked up and when it was where. The man the next morning was just as kind did not get his name. Ms Edith who checked us in immediately recognized my status with the Hilton and gave me 2 bottles of water and the wonderful cookies. It was 1:30 in the morning everyone was so kind and welcoming. Hotel looked and felt clean. Our room was a double, very large and the amenities was nice as well as wonderful hot water. Heat worked well. The complaints I read was sad I give the hotel a 5+. Being cheerful, informative and kind goes along way over other minute items. Our commode was sluggish but it flushed. Decor seemed fine, no odors. We stayed for 2 nights room 6257 by the elevator.

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport and experienced a very concerning issue with the water in my room. Both the hot and cold water from the sink and shower had a strong, musty, mold-like odor. The smell was not faint — it was immediately noticeable from several feet away as soon as the water was turned on. It was overpowering enough that it made using the sink or shower uncomfortable. To make sure it wasn’t just the drain, I performed a simple test by filling a cup with water and taking it into another room. The water itself still had a mild stagnant/musty smell when smelled up close, though not as overpowering as when running from the tap. This suggests a plumbing or maintenance issue rather than just a surface drain odor. This was not a sulfur or “rotten

Positive: Staff was amazing! Knowledgeable, friendly, considerate, very helpful. Outstanding all around! Negative: Toilet didn't completely flush, being on the 1st floor, everytime some one entered or existed the building, the door would slam which was very loud and the bed would vibrate. And the $25.00 + tax for breakfast as well as the menu prices were excessive.

It’s a solid hotel close to the airport… I have stayed here many times after missed connections on United. The rooms are a bit dated, (older TVs) but they have been clean. I like the inside balconies, cool/interesting feature you don’t see many places. The staff has always been kind and helpful in my experience. Lyle at the front desk did a great job tonight! Breakfast is nice too—not included with your stay unless you get the Diamond food credit, but the food is good. And finally, free warm cookies are always an added plus, the Doubletree touch!
