Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lancaster Amish Country

Check in was normal and fast. We enter the room and immediately notice it doesnt smell clean. The trash can was over flowing with food, one bed was clearly slept in, dirty wash cloth in the other bed, dirty wash cloth in the bathroom sink, and worst of all the toilet was disgusting. They did not clean or change the sheets before putting us in the room. However, they did move us to a clean room. No upgraded, no discount. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. The heater a/c unit was either to hot or to cold and early in the morning was making this annoying noise, that kept us awake. On top of that, at 8 am the workers started cleaning the rooms all around and above us. Banging, making loud noises etc.. it was very hard to sleep. Lastly, they shut of room key early. We went to shop for Amish furniture. I quickly picked a hotel and it was a little further from the shopping area than I anticipated. Hotel was decent but could use a little updating. The breakfast area was small not suitable for families with young children. They need to look into fixing the TV connections are reception was poor. Tile floors in bathroom could use scrubbing. Hotel was easy to get to and the price was ok. It is near a truck distribution center or a place where trucks are coming and going throughout the day and night.

Positive: The location,staff was extremely helpful with the few complaints I had. The bed and AC was great. Negative: The first room I got the TV was broken ,soap was open already in the bathroom and hair on the bed. The front desk staff was helpful. The second room was a lot better. Should of been offered from the beginning.

Bathroom was very dirty, shower was moldy, holes in the wall that were barely patched up. Banging doors all night long. People yelling and hanging out in the lobby til all hours. Their "breakfast" was two waffle makers and a dirty juice machine. Train went by late at night and early in the morning. Heat had to be turned up to 78 in order for the A/C to not randomly turn on. Would definitely not stay here again. You get what you pay for.

The only reason for losing one star is that we didn't care much for the beds. The mattress was on a metal frame which was bigger than the mattress, so you could hit your shins on it. And the mattress was pretty low grade and hard. But otherwise the room was beautiful and we loved that we could get our own Netflix on the TV and it was just generally laid out very well and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, but I would have loved to had at least a couple protein.Items. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. Good value for the price!
