Days Inn by Wyndham Wilmington/Brandywine

I booked this Hotel because it was pet friendly near the venue. Decided not to bring pet, but anyway… checked in. No problem. Polite staff at desk. Went to room on second floor. The second floor walkway was crooked and had dips in it. Went in room. Very loud highway noise, loud rattling fridge, and unpleasant smell. We asked for a new room. Front desk accommodated request. Never even looked in next room. From the parking area you could see the walkway on the second floor collapsing. There were huge cracks and uneven walkways. The hotel placed a cone near the crack and a paper sign that said not to cross. But you had to cross to get to rooms. This place was literally falling apart. Typical Days Inn. Room was large with king bed small fridge(no freezer section) microwave and TV. Room was clean, linens fresh. Bathroom was small but tub/shower serviceable. Breakfast was bagel w/cream cheese hot coffee and juice box with bananas and apples. Attendant was very helpful and kept the area clean and well stocked. We checked in on a Friday night and pleasant female desk clerk helpfully suggested Brandywine Diner for dinner. A wonderful suggestion! Ate there 3 times during our stay. ||Checkout desk clerk, Jason was surly and rude. He also answered phone when I called a week after our 2 night stay to ask that my Wyndham Rewards points be credited to my account. Positive: No comment Negative: Desk clerk was rude, almost didn't allow my daughter to stay. She ended up not staying anyway due to the room smelling of smoke, and the bathroom being dirty

Noisy. Nothing worked. Already paid but wasn't about to spend a miserable night here. I checked in at about 3 p.m. but knew it was going to be really bad by about 6 p.m., so I checked out and found a much nicer place just down the road. Don't let the low price entice you into staying here at this Days Inn, for another twenty bucks you'll be able to find a place just down the road where you'll be able to get a good night's sleep.

Staff are friendly and efficient. This an old hotel but the room was clean and decent. Decent bed, and TV had good cable. Continental breakfast was well attended. Met all my expectations for this level of accomodation.
