Days Inn by Wyndham Modesto

I would never stay here again. The moment we walked into the room it STANK horribly of smoke and old person mixed together. The room was insanely stuffy and I tried turning on the ac and the front desk said the ac will not blow unless its over 75 degrees or something like that, so even though I turned the fan on coldest it was blowing out hot air into an already hot stuffy room. I could not sleep due to how hot/stuffy & stinky the room was. We got offered another room but we were too exhausted to move our stuff. The front desk lady brought me a fan to my room which was nice. That was the only reason I was able to sleep. The rooms were also extremely outdated it was real ugly. We only slept for the night & left so thankfully we didn’t have to deal with the rank for too long. The positives

We came from Idaho for a funeral. My Husband booked the night before and realized it was not for all of the days we needed. He called and got guy that supposedly fixed. When we checked in the lady at the counter was super helpful. Even though the days were still messed up she took great care of us. Turned out she was the manager and does not normally work nights. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Jonnie. Rooms were nice and clean.

Positive: Friendly staff, helpful and attentive Negative: Noticeable signs of carpet damage and burn marks on desk drawer, and a general lack of sufficient maintenance

Very nice room with comfortable pillows and very comfortable bed with a mini fridge, a small safe, and a large sliding glass window opening to the pool area. There was a coffee maker with a few free, coffee and tea, with sugar and other alternate sweeteners. the only issue I had would be the heating and air conditioning control seems to be back from the 70s or 80s. The temperature control of the room only consists of just a high, and low, heat or cool and off switch. A huge needed upgrade would be a digital temperature control so it wouldn't be on all the time until it gets too hot or too cold which would then require to get up out of bed 2 change the temperature setting. There is no read out of what temperature it actually is, if I'm needing to keep the temperature at an even temperature

I had a great experience with the employee's and the manager at this specific Days Inn. The manager I dealt with, Jonnie Weeda was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly, professional and extremely helpful to me. While ALL of the employees were super helpful and very nice, the hotel needs to be re-modeled. While housekeeping can only do so much, the only people to fix the major issues are the owners. Keep your employees' but clean up your hotel. Thank you Jonnie Weeda!
