Crowne Plaza Albany - the Desmond Hotel by IHG

I can’t talk high enough of a fifth anniversary party at the Crown plaza Albany Desmond The personal attention to our party , the service at our cocktail / appetizer meeting and the dinner was phenomenal. I would recommend this place to everyone. The rooms were impeccable warm and clean. It was an amazing weekend there. I would go again. Garden center was amazing

We've stayed here many times. Wonderful staff and many rooms have been recently updated. The big reason we always choose the Desmond is you can eat dinner and they have a nice bar. While breakfast isn't free, it's a great menu with smoked salmon and other goodies. The last two times eating breakfast, we've been waited on by Bill Spinosa. He's the consummate professional and treats us like royalty. He's part of what makes the Desmond so special!

Hotel is good-- especially for the price. Very clean, no funny smells. Wet clothes hung up in the bathroom dried very fast-- good ventilation! It was fun to have a pool, but the water was a little cold (it's hard to stay warm in winter).

Had a pipe burst in our house, had to book over the phone last minute. On the positive side, they allowed pets which was great. When I arrived on site I was told there was an extra $90 feet for my small dog which blind sided me as I asked several times through the booking service. Ok fine, THEN there was an additional incidental fee of $75 (they informed me that was refundable). 11pm with two kids and a small dog, what choice did it have. Finally made it up to the room unpacked and settled, the fridge didn’t work and the toilet was clocked, I called and they switched us to the next room immediately. Next day I tried calling the restaurant several times, no answer. Also no clear instructions on room service or where to find a menu. Called the front desk and they told us they would call us b

Went here for a Student Conference. I stayed 3 nights and would love to go back! Hotel staff was extremely nice and accommodating! My one light wouldn’t turn off so I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance worker who was very kind within 10 minutes. He switched out the outlet and was done in 10 minutes. The restaurant attached is really nice with a great menu. The food was delicious and they have a great happy hour menu as well! I really enjoyed the gym there. Very clean and had great equipment. They also have bottles of water and towels in the gym. I loved the layout of the hotel, it’s very spacious and gorgeous!!
