Courtyard by Marriott Valdosta

My husband has ALS and we were traveling through to Florida. As a member I chose this hotel from the app. I called spoke with the front desk assured the room was indeed accessible and recently rehabbed. Sadly it was far from handicap accessible. The roll in shower was poorly designed. Water was all over the floor and transferring my husband was dangerous as the tile was slippery all the way to the toilet. Additionally they have poorly placed outlets relying on plug in adapters for their own lights. The room although clean was so small he could barely navigate the room with his motorized chair and all his equipment. We needed the pull out for my son and could barely set the room up. The lobby is nice and modern looking. The coffee shop is good. There’s some construction going on down the LL hallways. The rooms have a musty smell, the bathroom in our room wreaked of urine I don’t know if it was in the wall paper or grout or what but it spelled like pee in there. We stayed here as a place to sleep during long distance travel which it served its purpose for. However I was afraid to even let my 9mo crawl on the floor based on other reviews because it didn’t seem like it changed much.

The three staff members I dealt with were wonderful, professional, well mannered and well dressed. But the property was terrible. I feel bad for these employees, they deserve a better working environment. My room smelled bad, the AC unit was noisy and barely worked. The showerhead was so low I had to stoop down to shower, I'm 6'. The body wash bottle was empty and had some kind of growth hanging from the end of it! Nasty looking stain on the sheet. Even the though hotel states "No Dogs", I saw several dogs there. The room next to me had a couple of chihuahua dogs, they barked all night!!!! This is just a property that is run down and poorly managed. Cleanliness is not a high priority there. Will not stay again, that I can assure you!

The breakfast was very good. The breakfast bowl and breakfast sandwich were both very large, filling, hot and fresh!

Modern Courtyard. South Georgia customer service is wonderful. ChargePoint EV stations are 205v / 40amp / $0.40 kWh no other fees. Highly recommended hotel.
