The McKey

We enjoyed this unexpected stay downtown Valdosta with a central location. Great communication about our stay and checkout. Appreciated the classic charm of The McKey. It is an older building beautifully renovated with a quality design aesthetic. Large rooms, clean, and bright. You could hear the traffic, but with the ear plugs we slept so comfortably. If we ever find ourselves back in Valdosta we will stay at The McKey. We also had a fabulous meal at Oak & Olive on the first floor of the building!

We just stayed at the McKey and really liked it. It is a beautifully refurbished building with lots of charm and class. The room was neat and clean with plenty of space. My husband enjoyed the soaking tub in our room, the Saymore. We had a fabulous dinner at the Bistro, to which we could walk. We liked the convenience of having a coffee shop downstairs in the morning so we could get on the road. Our only complaint, as others have mentioned, was the street traffic and noise. There are earplugs in a bin in the hallway! We would definitely return here over the generic chains in the area.

We found this property to be very accommodating. The rooms were quiet with no street noise for our room, just the occasional train. I think every thing has been thought out. If you forget something, don’t worry, they have plenty of items in the hall for your use plus coffee, water & ice. The room was spacious, clean and inviting. Parking is on the street but felt safe. Once you book your room, you will receive great communication with good details on how to enter the building and your room. I don’t think any workers are on the property, we didn’t meet anyone.

A wonderful stay in a historic downtown building that offers a unique hotel experience. The room was very clean and welcoming, and the Grand Tour Suite provided plenty of space to relax. Amenities are thoughtfully placed in the hallway and easy to access. I highly recommend this boutique looking hotel.
