Courtyard by Marriott Salt Lake City Layton

I was attending a conference just around the corner. This hotel was easily accessible, and walkable for my attendance. Excellent Customer service. Makayla was quick and friendly at check in, Gage was so nice and quick witted at the hotel bar/lounge. I love the retro style of the rooms and such great space to relax and continue to work! I will definitely be back - hopefully for leisure travel too! Great location- close to shopping, and the Hive Winery.

I would like to thank Anaya, Lex,Justin, and River for all the great help that they gave me while I was there at the hotel this week. I had a grueling experience trying to get here from the East Coast. It started off with snow in Maryland. Everything that could go wrong that day did go wrong, but they made my experience even on the first day of my disappointments the most exciting and fun time that I could have possibly asked for. We shared stories and plenty of laughter! The room was not up to my satisfaction and was changed on the next day. I did have issues with the water not getting hot but it was taken care of within the couple of hours that I reported the incident. WE loved this hotel for the spacious rooms, cleanliness and staff service. THe pool, while small in the Marriott way, was still big enough for the kids to have a blast in, and the hot tub was wonderful. : ) It was clean. (THANKS!) Our room was so nice, and it was relaxing. The air conditioning worked great and the room felt private. We would have liked breakfast provided....make sure you know if it's there or not, because we were caught off guard by the lack of it. The bedding is sparse and tiny pillows are annoying. We brought our own, so we were ok, but it would be nice not to have to bring our own blankets and pillows.

We always choose to stay at Marriott because of their high quality standard, however this Marriott was the exception to all of that and the reason we will no longer stay at Marriotts. There were beard trimmings on the sink and counter of our room, women’s hair on the wall in the shower, our sink was plugged and wouldn’t drain, so it completely filled up anytime we’d use it briefly. When we brought it to the staffs attention the next morning (it was late at night we got to our room) we were questioned on it all because they said that didn’t sound right. We were given the impression that they dismissed the state of the room almost completely and assured us we were wrong because it “didn’t sound right”, or told that those “are easy fixes”. I can’t quite give this hotel 5 stars because the rooms are a bit dated and had very dim & yellow lighting. However, beds were clean and comfortable, shower was nice and hot, and room was a decent size. Food was okay. Where the hotel did shine was staff! Everyone was extremely friendly, efficient, and helpful.
