Courtyard by Marriott Kingston

I travel frequently and typically have very consistent experiences with Marriott properties, which is why this stay stood out—in a disappointing way. To be clear, the evening staff was excellent—professional, attentive, and exactly what I expect from the brand. Unfortunately, the morning experience was the opposite. Around 6:20–6:30 AM, I went to the front desk to purchase an orange juice, as this property does not offer breakfast (unusual, but secondary). I stood at the front desk for 10–15 minutes without assistance. During that time, I could clearly hear an employee in the back office on a personal phone call discussing car and transmission issues. Really nice and well kept. There was one employee at the front desk named Ramona who made me feel right at home once I arrived. I’d really like to commend her on her performance and general vibe, we need more people like her in the world. At any rate, the hotel seemed well run and I loved my room.

Hotel is in an awesome location, so many stores in the area. The staff at the desk was extremely friendly I felt right at home as soon as we began checking in. They were very helpful with all questions. The room was perfect, extremely clean, probably the cleanest hotel I’ve been to, well stocked with towels, and the bed was super comfortable with plenty of blankets and pillows. We went swimming after dinner in the pool. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and some couches and a nice fireplace. I can say with certainty this was my most pleasant hotel experience to date. Genuinely have zero complaints other than the hot tub being closed but that is not anyone’s fault. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay.

Great hotel with a perfect location. It’s very convenient for trips to the ski area or hiking in the Catskill Mountains—everything is within a 30-45 minute drive. I can’t say enough about the staff’s customer service; they truly went above and beyond our expectations and made us feel very welcome. Our room was very clean and looked recently renovated, with new furniture and carpet. The beds were extremely comfortable, which made resting after a long day easy. We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi after a busy day—it was an excellent and relaxing experience. Highly recommend this hotel for both active trips and a comfortable stay.

For the price point, this hotel gets 5 stars - we have already booked our next stay. The lobby is wonderful, open, modern and spacious with a cool dining area and a beautiful fireplace. I was greeted by a friendly and sophisticated team member who quickly set me up with a room key and a brief orientation. We stayed in room #330 which had a lovely view, was spacious and newly renovated. The bathroom was great and most importantly, the bed was clean and VERY comfortable. WIFI for business was strong enough for me to do a Zoom call with no glitches from my hotel room. The pool/hot tub are nothing fancy, but were clean and available.
