Courtyard by Marriott Albany Thruway

I am a marriot platinum elite member, with 100 plus nights every year and never have I had a room where the towels were restocked and the bed was not made. So this place was a first for me. I don't need the bed made but it's insinuated in the price and the fact it's every other day anyways means it should be done out of professional respect. Room was decent size, bed was hard and uncomfortable. Location was ideal for my work in the area. Parking was adequate. TV remote only worked in a sweet spot which made my arm tired.

This (reasonably new ) Marriott is a stand-out for the superb service : from super friendly and helpful check in /check out and management to food and beverage staff - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms were pristine and nicely appointed, the little Bistro perfect for a quick breakfast or light dinner - with friendly and efficient staff. I’m going on a bit about the staff but feel that I have to emphasise this : we’ve stayed at many (way pricier ) 5 star hotels in cities around the world - and I can honestly say we have never experienced such warm and attentive staff! We will be back.

Positive: "" Negative: There were no towels or wash cloths in the room. When I pulled back the covers, the sheet had multiple hairs on it, looked bed had been made but sheets not changed after last guest.

Comfortable beds and an accessible location were nice. Working spaces in the room and shared spaces were as expected Staff was great. Only 4 stars for me as it was super cold outside and while my room never got cold it struggled to get warm.

Miserable Marriott Moment Read 1-3 Where do I even begin? As I write this I feel conflicted, because I am a great Marriott patronizer and this Marriott was an utter disappointment. Marriott’s are usually my go to choice, because they are an established chain of hotels. I have never experienced this level of dissatisfaction with a Marriott so I’ll keep this review short and simple, simply because I don’t like leaving bad reviews. Price Not worth the hype. Atmosphere Beautiful dining area that contained a mix of dinning tables and workspace stations. I did not eat the food. Service Friendly Staff that was kind and helpful. Room 1st room reeked of Marijuana so I asked to be moved. 2nd Room no smell and appeared clean but was not. Shower/tub was filthy and had large sized black shoe print
