Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, McDonough, GA

We rented two rooms for a night otw home, BED BUGS! My kids woke up ate up from room 316. Our room didn’t have bugs that we noticed. Manager tried to argue that there were none then turned around after I assume going to check and changed his tone completely. They did refund our money but that still didn’t make up for the hassle of having to wash and dry everything before leaving. Delayed our trip by 3 hours. Glad we didn’t take much inside. Elevator was sketchy, floors were gross to walk on, breakfast was decent and the ladies at the desk were nice. Linens were stained and the floors and walls were dirty as well. Honestly 0/5. Only nice thing was it was right off the highway we needed to get home. Ridiculous!

We were grateful that our room was upgraded at no charge. However, there were several reasons why I would not recommend this hotel or stay there again. First, the bathroom was dirty. There were handprints on the walls as well as dirt and hair from previous guests on the floor. Second, the room was damp and musty. Our skin felt sticky because of how damp the air was. Third, our room was located next to the laundry room. We heard the machines all night. We also heard people using the laundry room playing loud videos on their phones all night. Lastly, there were probably over 20 men hanging outside in the parking lot/smoking areas at one time. As a woman traveling alone with 2 children, this was very intimidating. I did not feel safe.

The place is clean and the staff if friendly and helpful. it is VERY basic with limited “closet” space and no kitchen supplies (plates, flatware, etc) although it can be requested. There were no cups for water, and when we asked at the front desk we were given 6 oz. cups. The shower is poorly designed as the shower curtain doesn’t reach the bottom so copious amounts of water end up on the floor and must be mopped up to avoid slipping.

Had a night booked here through Expedia, however, upon arrival, I was told this hotel doesn’t accept guests who “live” within 30 miles. No problem, I don’t live here, just haven’t switched my ID yet but I offered to show them utility bills in my name. I was told it was strictly based on ID address. This “policy” is not stated ANYWHERE, including on the direct website or any 3rd party websites. When I booked at another Country inn & suites 10 mins away, even the rep who checked me in said he’s never heard of it and was appalled my reservation wasn’t honored by the McDonough location. I will be looking into what further actions I can pursue since this doesn’t seem to be a legally enforceable “policy.” 0/10 would not recommend.

60.00 refundable deposit if you don’t smoke or have pets in the room that they don’t tell you about until check in. Wiped the shower head and all this black mold started falling off. When I called the front desk housekeeping came and did the same thing no cleaning products or anything and said I fixed it. Breakfast was gross! Over cooked sausage some unidentifiable other meat eggs l. Yes u had to make your own packaged grits. They changed my room but only because I complained. Never again!
