Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Downtown Albany New York

Update 2: Its the following morning and the brown water is back and worst than ever. I’ve included yet another photo to show how bad it is. I understand that emergencies can happen but at this point I feel like I’m being intentionally lied to about this issue Update: About 4 hours after calling down to report the issue, a staff member came to tell me they had some emergency boiler room repairs and it should clear up shortly. Had to run the water for at least an hour but finally clear Nice breakfast and good enough location for downtown access. Rooms are standard DO NOT USE/DRINK THE HOT WATER. I was told by the staff this is part of the Albany public water supply and there’s nothing will do. If I get thirsty or want clean water, I was kindly informed I can find a water fountain on the 2

Ultimately I was so thankful for this hotel location, ideal for a late arrival at the bus station (almost 11 pm) from Montreal, I could literally walk 2 minutes from the station and konk out. The formula is very similar to previous ownership at this hotel (Holiday Inn most recently I think) with breakfast complimentary with eggs, hash browns or continental breakfast offerings and a dining area with news and sports channels. A fitness room was satisfactory. There was an issue with the key stopping working our second night that appeared to be more than just demagnetization but management dealt with the problem professionally. The room was comfortable, the bathroom clean, the employees helpful.

The hotel is in great shape and our room was clean and well kept. Staff was friendly. Free breakfast was decent. Gym area was better than most hotels at this price point. We were able to find lot parking with no problem. Only downside is the area this hotel is in. The building next door is abandoned and the area doesn’t feel the safest. However, the location is great if you’re doing the Hudson Marathon — it’s within walking distance to the shuttle and you’re just down the road from the finish.

It was a nice stay. The place is extremely clean. The room is designed with convenience in mind. There's a small ledge for you to put down some items right after you walked into the room. There's the furniture for my luggage. I didn't need to unpack anything from my luggage. I simply lived out of my luggage. There's a nice lounge sofa for relaxation. The price I paid for the stay was great. The room was a bit cold one night, but the temperature never did go up. Providing at least 1 free bottle of water would be nice since it would cost the hotel just a minimal amount when brought in bulk. I know because I used to work in retail.

This hotel is very bare in the sundries section with no options at all for beverages and very limited snacks or other items. The staff in the evening made me feel very uncomfortable by coming to the side entrance door outside to stare and watch as I was in the smoke section. The check in clerk was awesome but the rest of the staff wasn't welcoming or inviting in any way. My room wasn't the cleanest but I made do. With some tweaking and hospitality training this could be an awesome hotel. Should designate some rooms for smokers as we rent rooms for stays and vacations.
