Comfort Suites Portland Southwest

The hotel was a good value, easy to access from I-5, and overall well kept. Staff was friendly and attentive as well. The parking lot was well lit, had security cameras, and felt safe. There's some wear and tear on the room(chips in the door finish, mirror missing from bathroom door) but it was very clean with no offensive odors. The bed was a little too soft for our liking but didn't hinder our sleep and we had no issues with noise. Breakfast was decent, as expected for Comfort Inn except the eggs were very salty. Overall, we would stay here again in the future.

This hotel is tucked away from the main road on a little hill. The parking lot, although small, was well lit at night. There could be more handicap parking spaces though. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The only issue was the night staff forgetting to note that we’d requested a late check out. Our King bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. However the fold out sofa seemed to be broken because when sitting on either end, the seats caved into the middle of the sofa making it unsafe to sit on. The reason we chose this room was for the 2 person Whirlpool tub. Having had surgery a few weeks prior, soaking in that tub was pure bliss. Hello, I really wanted to like this hotel. I had just moved out of my home and needed a respite. This hotel has a pool and hot tub. I call and reserved my room, put a credit card on file. When I checked in the worker told me I had to give him a $100 cash. I hadn’t ever experienced this, so I asked why? He said they always hold $100 cash. So, I gave him the $100 and asked if that $100 would show on the receipt? He said no, but it will be in the drawer. Pointing it the drawer to his right. I said again, I can’t just give you a $100 cash and not have a receipt. So, I asked him to sign the print out for checking in. He did, it wasn’t on there. I then asked him to please write on my receipt that I had given him the cash. He did and handed it back to me. It wasn’t signed to verify that he wrote

Positive: The hotel, was very clean in the lobby and greeting area. I liked that there was a clean pool, complimentary breakfast and that the room had a microwave and fridge. The Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. Negative: The actual room itself, was dirty on the walls and lampshade. The Sofa bed was stained and had hair on it possibly from another guest? The sofa bed sunk in the middle, while in the couch position, and had no sheets. The cabinet/closet had a smell to it.

The service people were GREAT! They tried to accomodate us. It was the incredibly HARD bed that sent us away. This motel looks run down as well. Honestly it needs lots of work to update it. We used to stay in this motel lots in the early 2000's because of the COMFORTABLE softer mattresses on the beds. Wow..that has really changed. PLEASE, get some decent mattresses..MEDIUM , not FIRM...Thank you. We appreciated not being charged for the second night we had originally planned for. Thank you again.
