Comfort Suites Glendale - State Farm Stadium Area

This is a phenomenal hotel! Probably the first hotel I've ever stayed in that actually but all the basic expectations for a hotel at this price point. The king room was spacious, there were plenty of plugs and USB ports on BOTH sides of the bed (a simple need, but most hotels are, bizarrely, missing this), had a low-light reading lamp next to the regular lamps so the other person could go to bed without being bothered by the light, etc. The bed was firmer than I like, but I didn't wake up with my hips hurting like I usually do, so it was obviously a good quality mattress. Mini split was controlled by wall thermostat instead of the usual obnoxious controls on the actual unit, so climate control was perfect. Good insulation - didn't hear hallway noise like I usually do in hotels. Slept great

Positive: Staff very friendly and helpful Negative: Location was misrepresented. Said it was mile and a half from stadium but it was 3. Walkable but not for many. Have to walk over interstate.

This place should be shut down for several reasons. Just this last weekend, I checked in , and was I ripped off by paying in the Sum of $1,507.00 for Four nights of the worst conditions I've ever seen for a Hotel Room, especially at Comfort suites! The reason I couldn't say anything is due I was very sick, and I was stuck. I was in no condition to do anything except stay out the the 4 night's. They get me once I was already checked in and then it was the Biggest Horible Experience ! 1. The Shower system is horrible. I had dribbling water bearly coming out of the Shower head. 2..The double Bed in Room 109 was stinky filthy, and lumpy. Extremely uncomfortable. 3 . The Pillows are small and clumpy. 4. I should have understood when I checked in to this hotel and saw a sign on the counter that said “truckers, there is no parking currently at this location”. But I was only confused. Pictures do tell the true story, and the photos that I took at this hotel show a bathroom with rust, grime, and possibly blood smeared in and around tile grout that was not totally cleaned up. In addition to this, the hotel had a loose panel in the elevator that shook as the elevator went up and down! This led us to use the stairs instead of the elevator, and unfortunately, we ended up somewhere that was a laundry room and a utility room and full of very angry, looking workers. There was no warning on any of the stair doors that this was not a public stairway. When we got to the hotel and brought in our luggage

On departure I found I was billed to use the safe in the room which I did not use. $2.00 per day. I often travel throughout the US and there are safes in most of the rooms, which I don't use but never have been charged for safes in the rooms. I was also charged Gift-shop-Food $6.00 which I never purchased anything from the Gift shop. When I called on Saturday to dispute and kindly ask for a refund, the front desk person was very rude, told me no and then put me on an extended hold when I asked to speak with a manager. I tried calling the next day but said no manager on duty. My only guess is the front desk gave me water which they must have billed me for.
